Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Editorial Service Consultant to join us on a part-time or freelance basis. In this role, you will focus on promoting our editorial services through various social media platforms, driving sales, and increasing engagement with independent, self-publishing, and aspiring authors. You will also promote our Author Program and the exclusive Now Nakazzi membership platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Identify potential clients on social media by creating engaging content and initiating conversations with authors and writers.

  • Build Relationships: Engage with leads, answer queries, and provide detailed information about our services.

  • Close Sales: Understand client needs, offer solutions, and successfully close sales to earn commissions.

  • Customer Support: Maintain strong relationships with clients post-sale, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns.

  • Meet Sales Targets: Work towards achieving and exceeding sales goals, with an initial target of securing 10 client sales.

As an editor with Nakazzi & Co., you will work directly with our authors, helping them craft and refine their manuscripts to meet the highest standards. This role is commission-based, with editors earning 30% of the commission on each manuscript they work on.

  • Edit and critique manuscripts across various genres (fiction and nonfiction).

  • Collaborate with authors through direct client communication to ensure their vision is realized.

  • Provide structural edits, copy edits, and proofreading services as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality by signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

  • Uphold Nakazzi & Co.’s high standards of quality and professionalism in every project.

Additional Opportunities:

  • Earn extra income by participating in the creation of social media content for Nakazzi & Co.'s platforms. Share your expertise in short video segments, such as "Editor Tips", to help aspiring writers hone their craft.

Job Title: Freelance Book Scout & Distribution Agent (Fully Remote)

Nakazzi & Co. is a growing publishing imprint dedicated to supporting authors with flexible publishing contracts, editorial services, and a variety of marketing and promotional tools. We specialize in both hybrid and traditional publishing, helping authors succeed while maintaining creative control. Our team is committed to elevating indie authors and building connections in the industry.

We’re expanding our reach and looking for passionate, motivated individuals to join us as Freelance Book Scouts for our submissions team and Distribution Agents to facilitate book deals with retailers and distributors.

Role Overview:
As a Freelance Book Scout and Distribution Agent at Nakazzi & Co., you will play a crucial role in discovering talented authors and establishing distribution partnerships to bring our authors’ books to a broader audience. This is a freelance role with a competitive, results-based pay structure, rewarding you for each author successfully signed and each distribution deal secured.

Responsibilities:

  • Book Scout:

  • Identify and reach out to emerging and established authors whose work aligns with Nakazzi & Co.'s values and genre preferences.

  • Review manuscripts and pitches, and make recommendations to the submissions team.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with literary agents, author representatives, and industry networks.

  • Attend book fairs, literary events, and online forums to scout new talent.

Distribution Agent:

  • Negotiate and secure distribution deals with retail outlets, both online and brick-and-mortar.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align distribution goals with promotional strategies.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and other relevant industry contacts.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends to identify new distribution opportunities for our titles.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the publishing industry, preferably in a book scouting or distribution role.

  • A strong network within the literary world and familiarity with the needs and trends of indie publishing.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.

  • Passion for storytelling and a keen eye for spotting promising manuscripts.

  • Ability to negotiate and navigate contract discussions.

Compensation:
This role is freelance, with payment provided on a per-success basis:

  • Book Scout: Paid per author successfully signed with Nakazzi & Co.

  • Distribution Agent: Paid per distribution deal successfully secured.
